Victorian Day in Year 5
On Thursday, November 14th, the Year 5 children had the pleasure of experiencing a remarkable Victorian day at Charville. They donned a variety of costumes that beautifully represented their characters, looking absolutely splendid! Throughout the day, we engaged in practising the 3Rs—reading, Writing, and Arithmetic—while immersing ourselves in the atmosphere of a Victorian classroom.
The highlight was a captivating workshop centred around two notable Victorian figures: Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale. The children eagerly learnt about their lives and contributions, participating in role-playing activities that vividly portrayed the societal conditions of the time and the events surrounding the Crimean War.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents for their unwavering support in facilitating such enriching opportunities for our children. Their enthusiasm and participation truly brought the Victorian era to life!
