Year 6 - RAF Hendon
Last Wednesday, Year 6 visited RAF Hendon.
They were able to identify and spot the specific planes that flew above England, France and other European countries that were involved in the war.
The children explored different hangars, which included sight of English, French and American bomber planes, with a few Dutch planes. The children were enthralled to see an English plane that had a gigantic wing-span of 82ft.
The children also had the opportunity to participate in a workshop which gave them a chance to experience how a classroom would have been during the war. During the class, there was a thrilling bombing raid mock-up. They used ink-well pens, a chalk board and old-fashioned lift-up desks. They were also given name tags and war identification cards to take home with them to remember their time on the trip.
