Art
At Charville Academy we value Art as an important part of the children’s entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum. We recognise that Art can be used as a tool to stimulate creativity and imagination. It can provide visual, tactile and sensory experiences in a special way of understanding and responding to the world. It enables children of all abilities to communicate what they see, feel and think through the use of colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials. As an inclusive school, we aim to encourage children to explore their ideas and meanings through the work of a range of diverse artists including: current, British and past artists in different fields. Through learning about the roles and functions of art, the children can explore the impact it has had on contemporary life and at different times in history and through a variety of cultures. We aim for children to develop a lifelong love and appreciation of different art forms.
